HELP US CHOOSE WHO FOLLOWS JOOLS AS NEXT YEAR'S HEADLINE ACT

Everyone at Carlisle Racecourse was thrilled to welcome our biggest ever crowd last Saturday when nearly 11,000 people attended our CFM Summer Family Festival.

A record number of spectators went home happy after enjoying six top-class races followed by a stunning live performance by Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra before a spectacular firework finale.

But don't worry. We can assure you that plans are already well underway to stage an even bigger and better event next summer at the corresponding evening race meeting with family entertainment on Saturday 2 July 2011 (please note it in your diaries!).

However, we would now like to ask for a little help from you in choosing the next headline act to entertain what we hope will be another amazing all-time high crowd.

Obviously, there are factors to consider, like cost, suitability and artiste availability on that date.

But as a visitor to our website - and possibly someone who was among the record crowd to see Jools and guest singers Alison Moyet, Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall - we' want to invite you to tell us who you'd like to see performing here on another giant trackside stage next July.

It could be an individual performer or a band - it could be a British or international star - or it could be someone from your favourite decade, anything from the 50s through to the latest bright young things.

The stage is yours. So over to you.

Just send your suggested name - and a brief reason why - with your contact details to to this email address:

And just for good measure, one lucky person who chooses the artiste who actually performs as the headline act at next summer's family festival event will receive a pair of complimentary Premier Badges to see them on stage here.

Good luck - and thanks for your support.
