A family day with a host of entertainment and a concert post racing with stars of the X-Factor - Olly Murs, Jamie Archer, Lucie Jones and Jedward!


Depending on whether you have purchased a Grandstand & Paddock Ticket or Premier Badges access to the site is as follows:

 
Grandstand and Paddock Tickets:

 

The Grandstand and Paddock tickets give you access to the race meeting and concert and enable you to visit all ground floor public areas including the Bell Hall of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Grandstand with its extensive bars and fast food outlets, the Red Rum Bar, The Office Bar, Silks Cafe, parade ring and pre-parade ring. Please use your ticket to gain entry at the main turnstiles on your arrival.

Premier Badges:


The Premier badges give you access to the race meeting and concert and enable you to gain access to all the ground floor areas and also the first floor and upper terraces of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Grandstand, the Patterson Bar & Premier Patio Bar. The dress code for the Premier Enclosure is smart casual. Please use your badges to gain entry at the Premier Entrance to the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Grandstand upon your arrival.
 
Children's Concert Only Tickets & Wristbands:
 
Children 16 and under gain free entry to the afternoon races. Under 3's also gain free entry to the concert afterwards. However, if your child in between 4 and 16, and they wish to stay on for the concert afterwards, they must purchase a ticket and wrist band, priced at £5. These can be purchased in advance or on the day at the gate. Please ensure the children are wearing their wristbands on arrival at the turnstiles, or as soon as they have been purchased. This procedure is the same for children coming for the concert only. Gates will be open for concert only access from 4.00pm.
 
Adult Concert Only Tickets
 
These tickets are the same price as Grandstand and Paddock entry for the whole day. Visitors are quite welcome to purchase these and come at 4.00pm when gates open for concert only tickets. However, when it's all the same price, why not come for the whole day?
 
Admission Prices:

Premier Enclosure: £18.00
Grandstand and Paddock: £12.00
Concessions: £8.00 (For OAPs and Students, proof may be required. Concession tickets can only be purchased on the day, not in advance)
Parking: There is a free public car park opposite the Main Grandstand. Alternatively there is the Trackside Car Park for £5.00 per vehicle

4 - 16 years: £5
17 years  & over - Full Price
Please note that 14 year old's and under must be accompanied by someone aged 17 years old or over.
 

Advanced Booking Discounts:

If you book your tickets in advance (Premier Badges and Grandstand and Paddock Tickets only) the following group discounts are available:

Parties of 6-39 people - £2 per person

Parties of 40 plus people - £3 per person

(For parties of 40 or more people the organiser receives £40 of Tote betting vouchers)

Payment of tickets/booking fees:

Cash, credit/debit cards and cheques are accepted as methods of payment. A £1.50 booking fee will be added to all orders other than online.

Children’s Entertainment:

 

There will be a number of children’s entertainments throughout the afternoon including Horse Hoppers, Punch & Judy Shows, Jazz Duo, Jason the Juggling Jester, Children's Rides and a Mobile Climbing Wall. All children’s entertainment with exception of the mobile climbing wall is free of charge. The mobile climbing wall charges £2.00 per climb. In the Lonsdale Hall, there will also be the Petwise Zoo!

 

There will be a crèche available for children aged 3 to 8 years old, the charge for the crèche is £1.00 per hour. This will be open 1pm-5pm.

 

Location of the Stages:

 

The stage will be located on the steeplechase track. This is an outdoor concert, and the stage can be viewed by all ticket/badge holders.

 
Dress code
 
If you have purchased Premier tickets, we ask you to dress smart/casual. Jeans are fine as long as they are not ripped. There is no dress code for grandstand and paddock ticket holders.
 
Parking:

 

Coach and car parking is free of charge in our raceday car parks, oppisite to the main grandstand. Please follow the directional signs to the public car parks as you approach the racecourse. The course is fully signposted from Junction 42 of the M6 and from the surrounding areas.
 
We are also offering Trackside parking, which will cost £5 per car plus the normal entry price per person. There are a limited amount of spaces trackside, so this is operated on a first come first served basis. Should you fail to get a place trackside, there are plenty of spaces in the Raceday car parks!

 
Food and Drink:

 

A range of food and drink will be available to purchase on site. Please do not bring any food, alcohol, bottles, cans or containers with you as they will not be allowed into the site.

 

Public Access:

 

This is a ticketed event. Please keep hold of your ticket throughout the day (as proof of purchase).

 

Are we allowed to bring our dogs with us to a Race Day?
 

Dogs are permitted on the Racecourse but should be kept on leads and under strict control at all times.

 
 
Cash Machine:
 

There is no  cash machine on site so bring plenty of money with you.

 

Cigarette Machine:
 

There is no cigarette machine on site.

 

Is there access and viewing for wheelchairs? 
 

Yes disabled racegoers may take advantage of a designated parking area and a viewing platform on the first floor of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Grandstand. Premier badges are required (at Grandstand & Paddock price) and a complimentary badge will be provided to the accompanying carer.

 
Can I bring my own fold away chair?
 
Visitors are quite welcome to bring their own fold away chairs to our race meetings.
 
Can I bring a BBQ?
 

No BBQ’s are not permitted on site.

 
Location of the Racecourse from Train Station:
 
The Racecourse is two miles south of the city. It is approximately a 15 minute taxi drive from the City Centre. There is a taxi rank outside the train station.
 
Bus Service:
 
Stagecoach provide a public service from Carlisle Bus Station to the Racecourse on racedays. The buses depart from Carlisle Bus Station 75 minutes and 45 minutes prior to the first race. Further information regarding the bus service will be updated closer to the event.
 
Two free buses will run on a continuous cycle from 7.30pm-9.00pm. These will be operated by Irving's coaches, and on a first come first served basis.
